Complaints Procedure

ScopePress.uk is published by Rock Bay Media Ltd., a private company limited by shares registered in Gibraltar (company number 128512) with registered office at Suite 21, Portland House, Glacis Road, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. This Complaints Procedure explains how to raise a formal editorial complaint about content published on ScopePress.uk and how we will handle it.

Who is responsible for handling complaints?

Rock Bay Media Ltd., as the publishing company, is ultimately responsible for handling complaints about editorial content on ScopePress.uk. The editorial team, led by Editor-in-Chief Nathan Brooks, oversees all complaint investigations and resolutions. You should direct your complaint to the dedicated email address complaints@scopepress.uk, which is monitored by the standards and fact-checking team.

Day-to-day management of the complaints process is handled by Ruth Donovan, Standards & Fact-Checking Lead. If you are not satisfied with the initial response, you may escalate the matter directly to Nathan Brooks at nathan.brooks@scopepress.uk.

How do I submit a complaint?

To submit an editorial complaint, email complaints@scopepress.uk with a clear description of the issue, the specific article URL or headline, and the outcome you seek. Include your name and a contact email so we can acknowledge receipt and respond. Complaints that lack sufficient detail may be returned for clarification.

We ask you to explain why you believe the content breaches our editorial standards. If your complaint relates to a factual error, please see our Corrections Policy for the process specific to inaccuracies. For privacy-related concerns, refer to our Privacy Policy.

How quickly will you acknowledge my complaint?

We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within five working days. That acknowledgement will include the name of the person handling your case and an expected timeframe for a full response. We aim to resolve complaints within 15 working days, but complex cases may require longer.

If we need additional information or time, we will notify you. You may contact the handling editor directly using the email provided in the acknowledgement.

What happens after I submit a complaint?

Once acknowledged, your complaint is reviewed by Ruth Donovan or another member of the standards team. We investigate the specific editorial content, check source material, and assess any breach of our Editorial Policy or Tech Reporting Standards. You will receive a written response explaining our findings and any action taken.

If you remain dissatisfied, you may escalate to Nathan Brooks, Editor-in-Chief. His decision on the complaint is final within ScopePress.uk. We distinguish complaints from corrections: if your issue is a clear factual error, you may prefer to use our Corrections Policy directly. For issues involving personal data, the Privacy Policy applies.

What should I include in my complaint to speed up the process?

To help us investigate quickly, include the article’s full URL, the specific passage you consider problematic, and why it falls short of our standards. State clearly whether you believe the error is factual, misleading, a breach of editorial guidelines, or potentially defamatory. The more precise your submission, the faster we can act.

You may also refer to our Contact page for other non-complaint enquiries. Please note that complaints submitted through social media or phone may not be formally tracked unless followed up by email to complaints@scopepress.uk.
