ScopePress.uk is operated by Rock Bay Media Ltd., a private company limited by shares registered in Gibraltar (company number 128512, registered office Suite 21, Portland House, Glacis Road, Gibraltar GX11 1AA). Our Editor-in-Chief, Nathan Brooks, bears ultimate responsibility for all editorial policy, standards, and the integrity of every piece of content published. This policy sets out the rules, processes, and commitments that govern our journalism.
Who is responsible for our editorial content?
Nathan Brooks, Editor-in-Chief, oversees all editorial policy, corrections, publication decisions, and content quality. He is the final arbiter of our editorial standards and is supported by a dedicated team. Olivia Reid, Managing Editor, manages daily planning and newsroom workflow. Ruth Donovan, Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, enforces our fact-checking and corrections protocols. Every named editor on our masthead has clear authority over their specialist area. Our full team can be found on our Our Team page.
How is the publication funded?
ScopePress.uk is funded through display advertising, affiliate links (including tech retailer and software affiliate links), commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. Rock Bay Media Ltd. owns the publication and determines its commercial strategy, which is entirely separate from editorial decision-making. All sponsored or commercial material is clearly labelled. Affiliate links are disclosed. Commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. Full details are available on our Ownership & Funding and Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure pages.
What is our editorial process for each article?
Every article published on ScopePress.uk is reviewed by an editor before publication. No story goes live without editorial oversight from a named editor who checks for accuracy, clarity, compliance with policy, and appropriate sourcing. For sensitive stories — including those covering security vulnerabilities, legal matters, allegations, financial claims, stories involving minors, or privacy-sensitive reporting — the article receives additional review by Ruth Donovan, our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead. This extra layer ensures that high-risk content meets the strictest standards of verification, legal review, and ethical handling before it is published.
How do we distinguish between news, opinion, reviews, and sponsored content?
We maintain a clear and consistent distinction between all content types. News articles report facts and developments. Opinion pieces are clearly labelled as such and represent the views of the named author. Reviews follow our separate Product Reviews Policy and are based on hands-on testing. Features are analytical or exploratory journalism. Sponsored content and promotional material are always labelled with a visible disclosure. Affiliate content carries a disclosure statement. Readers can always identify the nature of the content they are reading.
What transparency do we provide on each article?
Every article carries a byline linking to the author’s profile. Publication dates and last-updated dates are displayed. Articles that have been reviewed or edited by a named editor or reviewer are labelled accordingly. Source references are provided wherever possible. Any commercial relationship relevant to the article (for example, a product sample provided for review) is disclosed. Correction notes are appended to articles and linked from our Corrections Policy. Readers can see exactly who wrote, reviewed, and updated a piece, and why.
How do we handle artificial intelligence and automation?
Digital tools may support research, editing, formatting, translation, metadata, headline options, summaries, and transcription. All published editorial content is reviewed by a human editor. AI must never fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience, or expert profiles. Our full approach is detailed on our AI & Automation Policy page.
How do we handle attribution and named writers?
All editorial content is attributed to a named writer or contributor. We do not publish anonymous work except in exceptional circumstances where a reporter’s safety is at risk, and even then, the editorial team knows the identity. Our team is listed on the Our Team page. We require writers to disclose relevant expertise, and we do not permit ghostwritten bylines or fabricated author profiles.
What is our complaints procedure?
If you believe we have breached our editorial policy or published inaccurate or unfair content, you can submit a complaint. Our process is detailed on our Complaints Procedure page. All complaints are reviewed by the editorial team, and serious matters are escalated to the Editor-in-Chief. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 14 days.
Where can readers find our reporting and review standards?
Our detailed standards for technology reporting are published on our Tech Reporting Standards page. Our approach to product reviews — including testing methodology, scoring, and disclosure — is set out in our Product Reviews Policy. These documents provide readers with full clarity on how we research, verify, and evaluate the technology we cover.
