Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure

ScopePress.uk, operated by Rock Bay Media Ltd. (company 128512, registered in Gibraltar), is funded through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. This page explains how those revenue streams work, where disclosures appear, and how we maintain editorial independence. For full company and ownership details see /ownership-funding/.

How is ScopePress.uk funded?

The publication’s primary revenue sources are display advertising, affiliate commissions, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing agreements. Display ads are sold directly and via programmatic networks. Affiliate links generate commission when readers purchase products through our links. Sponsored content is clearly labelled. Commercial partnerships and licensing supplement these streams, as detailed on /ownership-funding/.

We also run a paid newsletter sponsorship programme and licence article syndication to third parties. All commercial arrangements are transparently recorded and reviewed to ensure they comply with our editorial policy. No single funding source dictates the site’s direction or coverage priorities.

What are affiliate links and how do they work?

Affiliate links are special URLs that allow ScopePress.uk to earn a small commission when a reader clicks through and makes a purchase from a retailer or software provider, at no extra cost to the reader. We use affiliate programmes with major tech retailers such as Amazon UK, Currys, John Lewis, Very, Argos, and software vendors including Adobe, Microsoft and various VPN services. Commissions are a fixed percentage of the sale price.

Every article containing affiliate links carries a standard disclosure statement, either at the top of the page, immediately before the first link, or in a footer notice. The disclosure makes clear that we may receive a commission on qualifying purchases. Affiliate revenue helps fund our journalism but never influences which products we review or how we assess them.

Where do affiliate disclosures appear?

Affiliate disclosures appear at the beginning of articles, within the body text adjacent to the first affiliate link, and at the end of product reviews and buying guides. On review pages, a prominent note appears near the “Where to buy” section. On news articles that include retailer links, a short disclosure is placed in the article footer. All sponsored content is labelled as such and includes an additional affiliate disclosure if links are used.

We follow the guidelines set by the UK Competition and Markets Authority and the Advertising Standards Authority. Disclosures are written in plain English and are never hidden or minimised. Readers can always see when a link may generate revenue for the site.

Does advertising affect editorial content?

No. Advertising and commercial partnerships never determine editorial conclusions, product ratings, story selection or publication decisions. The editorial team and the advertising/commercial teams are operationally separate. Editorial staff do not report to the commercial team, and advertisers cannot pre-approve or veto content. Our full /editorial-policy/ outlines this separation in detail.

Sponsored content is clearly labelled with “Sponsored” or “Paid Promotion” and is produced under a separate policy (see /sponsored-content-policy/). Review scores and buying recommendations are based solely on independent testing and research, as described in /product-reviews-policy/.

How can I contact the advertising or partnerships teams?

For display advertising enquiries, email advertising@scopepress.uk. For affiliate programme and link-related matters, email affiliate@scopepress.uk. For commercial partnerships, sponsored content or content licensing, email partnerships@scopepress.uk. All commercial enquiries are handled by teams separate from the editorial newsroom.

Our general contact address for non-commercial matters is contact@scopepress.uk. The editorial line is +44 20 4587 9410. Media and press enquiries should go to press@scopepress.uk.

Where can I read the full policies?

Detailed policies covering sponsored content, product reviews and editorial standards are published on the following pages: /sponsored-content-policy/ explains how paid-for editorial is produced and labelled. /product-reviews-policy/ sets out our review methodology, testing procedures and disclosure rules. Our /editorial-policy/ covers the firewall between revenue and reporting.

These documents are reviewed and updated at least annually. Any changes to how we conduct affiliate business or accept advertising are reflected there before implementation.
